The Roads and Transport Authority, commonly known as RTA, is the major independent government roads & transportation authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. RTA needed to offer their employees resting spaces to sit and relax outside the office; and to serve as smoking areas. Bluestream needed to design and understand the need for employee’s emotional wellbeing, build team spirit, and improve communication through street furniture. Since this is the RTA, both the aesthetics and functionality of outdoor public seating and other street furniture have been considered in the process.
Over 300 Granite elements were installed as part of the soft mobility projects in areas surrounding Metro Stations. The purpose of the granite benches and picnic sets was to make these urban spaces more visitor and pedestrian-friendly by providing seating facilities for the public and employees surrounding those areas.
