Boats and marinas are often assessed through various eco-labels, but none more crucial than The Blue Flag. It's a global mark of quality.
Dubai Municipality is aiming for Blue Flag rating for its beaches with a full-fledged recycling program working with Bluestream bins that re designed and colored to meet stringent guidelines and requirements.
Initiated by the FEE, the program is crucial in ensuring safety as well as the institution and implementation of competent environmental education programs. Blue flags have been placed at Umm Suqeim 1 and 2 as well as the Jumeirah 1, 2, and 3 beaches in Dubai. These beaches have been globally recognized as a refuge for safe swimming and standout for sustainability and forward thinking environmental management. This a key driver in facilitating tourists and residents.
Bluestream manufactured unique smart street furniture and specifically smart bins. Two stream bins were manufactured by Bluestream for stringent segregation into general and recyclable waste. The focus was to deliver a functional and practical beach bin solution to be integrated into the existing high standards and expectation of Dubai Municipality. Bluestream’s steel finish continues to enthrall architects with its natural character, and successfully manages to achieve this with high durability and galvanized coatings even in the most aggressive of Middle Eastern coastal conditions. The bottom of each beach bin was designed to avoid being tipped over or blown away by heavy winds that could occur naturally around the beach or in sandstorms which Dubai is prone to.
The galvanized steel was used to its protective nature and provide longevity in the harshest of condition ensuring the beach bins are protected from corroding due to the extreme heat temperatures and saline-filled air. The chemical process in which protective zinc coating is applied to iron or streel to prevents rust and corrosion. Our steel painting procedure follows the strictest methodology from Jotun’s Technical Department to meet the harsh weather conditions in Dubai using the RAL colour system.
